Question

Ttc since July but only 2 cycles where I knew when I ovulated what do i count

Ok I quit taking my pill in July and was trying to peg ovulation by some crappy app by my period when it wasn't happening for me I decided I would buy opksand start charting. Since then I learned that I was ovulating like a wk earlier than the app had indicated. So should I give it a couple more months trying or talk to my ob now....I'm so sad and frustrated. I have two girls ...I conceived them both very easily my first while on the pill my second three wks off the pill and I'm just dieing inside that I can't have another baby. Am I really having trouble concieving or have I just been missing my window???? Please help

I think you're just missing your window. The doctor won't do anything for you yet because you've only been TTC since July - not even a year. They make most people wait until they fail to get pregnant within one year before they consider it a problem...Some of us have had to try for YEARS to get pregnant even though we know when our fertile window is and had intercourse at the right time. :(

Also, OPKs by themselves are not the most reliable indicator of your fertile window. Temperature is the most reliable method but you must be very consistent in doing it or you may have a hard time reading your chart.

If you miscalculated ovulation you probably should not count those months as months of actively trying. Keep charting your temperatures, learn about your cycle, and support this framework with OPKs. I don't know how old you are, but I suggest trying for at least 6 months this way. If it still does not work I would talk to the dr. Even for healthy younger couples with no fertility issues it can take a year to conceive. Since you conceived so easily the first two times your expectations might be too high. In every given cycle there is only about a 20 - 25% chance of conceiving. Be patient and keep going. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

Thanks everyone. I am charting temp religiously for the past two months. I'm 29 I will be 30 in August. My husband is two years older than me. I have been able to detect ovulation every month since charting which is why I now know my window to be different than what I thought. I was pretty sure since I was missing window they probably wouldn't count.....what a bummer all that time wasted.oh well.....12 dpo today and my temps dropped yesterday and are staying low....looks like another month down :(

I really understand your frustration. The very good news is that you are a young couple with probably many, many healthy fertile cycles ahead of you. I am 47 and still TTC. For me truly every cycle counts and that causes us some serious stress. I believe you will succeed soon, just be patient with it. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.
