Question

Do blue dye ovulation tests have the same issues that blue dye pregnancy tests have??

Been trying to find a good reliable ovulation test but I'm fairly new to trying and have never tried any.

Blue dye OPK's arent as bad as the HPT's becuz u will most likely always have a line on them, whereas a hpt wont have the line unless ur actually pregnant, yet the blue dyes give u one regardless. The best blue dyes for OPK's are clearblue advanced, they pick up estrogen and LH so it gives u a bit of a longer window to be storing sperm up there (usually, not always, that depends on ur hormones and how fast they surge and ur urine/testing times etc etc). Some dont like them, but they are more accurate than the regular ones. U could also get some pink dye cheapies on ebay. The ones I got were excellent, never had trouble picking up a surge with them...cheap too. I can hit ya with a link if ur interested.

Dakota is right on the money as always! Also, if you buy dip strip pregnancy tests and opks, make sure not to dip them together at one time. Apparently the dye from a dip strip opk can somehow leak onto a dip strip hpt, causing a false positive. I knew a girl that continuously took a dip hpt and a dip opk at the same time and the hpt always looked "positive", but after much research and bloodwork, found out that the dye can run from one test to another. Hope this helps! XX
