My period returned after 10 months, but it turned out that I didn't start ovulating until after a year. Everybody is different, though. I know quite a few people who got pregnant before their period ever returned.

I was mix feeding and I ovulated first month which started a year to the date my last af when I got preg x

I have conceived twice while breastfeeding older babies. I used OPK strips (cheap ones from Amazon) once you start ovulating, track your cycle and be mindful of your luteal phase. For me, my period would return and I would ovulate but my luteal phase would be too short the first few cycles. The third cycle has been the "magic" one for us, but of course, everyone is different. Don't get discouraged! It will happen when your body is ready :) Best of luck to you!
