I was late before, almost a week with neg tests. it is soooo annoying. I think in my case AF was delayed because I took an antidepressant for a couple of months during winter. I stopped taking it and all is back to normal. Best wishes.

I had an anovulatory cycle in January after a couple months of tic (I have PCOS). I went to my obgyn to basically ask for clomid. He told me that he wanted me to try for 6 months before prescribing, so I asked if there was anything i could do on my own to induce ovulation. He recommended eating super clean, which I did (high protein and very low sugars & carbs). I also started taking Maca and Evening Primrose Oil, and was already taking prenatals. I had a period on 02/19 and we conceived that cycle. I still ovulated late that cycle (day 22 I think), but I am 7 weeks pregnant. Trust me, I understand the frustration and I honestly thought that the diet thing was annoying because I was convinced that it would take MONTHS for the diet change to affect my fertility...but it didn't. Good luck :)

I am always an advocate for healthy eating and I recommend Marilyn Shannon's book Fertility Cycles and Nutrition frequently. However, I doubt that diet changes as such will bring success from one cycle to another. I don't even believe that egg quality can be influenced by healthy eating. What about poor countries in South America etc.,where a poor diet is often the only diet. Kids, lots of kids....I recommend a balanced diet, supplements as needed and patience. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

Phillips~maybe become more educated about how diet affects PCOS, which is a leading cause of infertility in the US. The major problem with PCOS is insulin resistance, so diet is everything. Diet significantly impacts hormones, and hormones impact women's cycles, obviously. The original post was about long cycles or possibly an anovulatory cycle. I did not say that diet was the only thing that "brought success" to conceiving that cycle, I also tracked ovulation through OPK and bbt charting, so the timing was right. But, considering that i did not ovulate the previous cycle, obviously diet and supplements impacted hormone levels (FOR ME). THANKS!

I am sorry if I missed something. I was not under the impression that the initial question had anything to do with PCOS. I have indeed read about insulin resistance and agree that in those cases diet is probably key for success. the best to all .

This happened to me just last month! I didn't turn out to be pregnant but I was 33 DPO and on CD 47 when my period finally showed up. I am probably on about the same wave length as you are. My cycles were about regular in January and February then in March it was like my cycle went stupid. It stopped being regular and just decided to be irregular instead. This pissed me off and scared me at the same time. So much that I decided to go to the doctor and get my blood tested (btw negative results). But it's ok! Don't let this deter you! I won't let it get me down. Eventually, sooner or later (preferably sooner) We will get our BFP! Don't worry and Don't stress out! Just be patient and know that your glorious day of happiness will come!
