Question

Should I worry?

I just found out I'm pregnant with my third child (but it's my second pregnancy, I had twins the first time).. I found out I was pregnant this time at 2 weeks past ovulation but the first time I found out I was pregnant I had no idea until I was 12 weeks. This time though, I'm am finding myself worrying excessively about miscarrying. I had a perfectly healthy pregnant the first time, but still want to know if my worry is warranted or is it ridiculous? I haven't been to the doctors yet.. My appointment is scheduled for April 28 and I'm having a really hard time waiting that long!! Please help me.

Do you have any reason to be worried? Your age? Do you have any medical conditions or do you somehow not feel well? If you had no problems with your first pregnancy I would not worry too much. However, if you are excessively nervous about it I would try to get an earlier appointment so your HCG levels can be monitored to see if they are doubling properly. Also a progesterone check might put your mind at ease. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

I'm 21 and no I don't have any medical conditions or anything like that. I guess I just worry after seeing many other people miscarry for no reason. My sister in law miscarried her first baby and she's 26 but also a smoker.. So idk if that played any part in it but I really am hoping that it doesn't happen to me. I've been taking pregnancy tests and the line seems to be getting darker every time I take one so I'm hoping everything is in check.

Really, if you are worried get your HCG levels checked. They will tell you more about the viability of the pregnancy than the pregnancy test at home. Miscarriages can happen at any age for various reasons. The older you are the more likely they are to happen. There are medical conditions like the antiphospholipid syndrome that causes miscarriages. This can be treated with bloodthinners. Low progesterone levels can also be remedied. Chromosomal abnormalities are what they are and many losses happen as a result. Best wishes - and don't worry so much.

Be careful if u test regularly cos you will suddenly get a faint positive, called the Hooke effect when there's too much hcg in your system for the hpt to cope with, if this happens take a test but dilute with water xx
