2 miscarriages could they be unrelated to each other
got pregnant in july and started to bleed at 4w3d so I guess you can say chemical pregnancy. I was upset but figured I had gotten pregnant too quickly after coming off bc pill only 1 cycle after stopping pill. 3 weeks later i'm pregnant again so happy. everything great I have 2 kids with husband and both times had ms so it was weird I had none this time had us at 12w everything looked good. went for dr app at 16 weeks couldn't find heartbeat. looks like baby stopped growing at 12w5d . just wondering if these 2 miscarriages could be related or not I know chemicals are very common but usually after 12 weeks and see heartbeat mc rate goes way down what could have caused it dr doesn't test till 3 mc's any similar stories any advice wanted

Impossible to say, I have had similar- mc picked up at 14 weeks after a normal 12 week scan and then a 'blighted ovum' lost at just under 9 weeks. I have antiphospholipid syndrome which probably explains the first one (this is a blood clotting problem which affects the development of the placenta) but was on treatment for the second one and still miscarried, there was never a fetus visible on my scans that time (I had 3 scans at 5w6d, 6w4d and 7w4d). My consultant thinks the second one was probably unrelated to the first. Now 4w3d with number 3 hoping for 3rd time lucky :-)
