Ferning on my microscope during period?????

So I did I saliva check for ferning just because I was curious today....I'm 3 days into my period and I had full ferning on my microscope. Anyone have any ideas as to why this would be. I haven't used the microscope as much because I've been bbt ing and using opks. But why would I have ferning so early when normally I don't ovulate until cd 12 or cd 13
