Question

What are the odds of taking a pregnancy test and getting a positive result at 18 DPO.

I took a pregnancy test on 14 DPO and it was stark white negative. I have ALL the symptoms of pregnancy and I feel pregnant. AF has still not shown up and I am now 16 DPO. I plan on taking another test on 18 DPO which is of course 2 days from now. I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen to them. Could I have possibly taken the test too early? Any answers at all will be greatly appreciated!

If you have been getting bfn's up until 18dpo and then get a bfp, it's probably not a good sign. With my early m/c and chemical I didn't get a bfp until between 18-20dpo. Unless you miscalculated your ovulation date and you are actually earlier than you think it's probably a negative.

If you've past 16dpo, you either are pregnant or miscalculated your ovulation date or have high progesterone levels from some other source.

Good luck!

There is an almost 90% chance of getting a positive result at 18dpo if pregnant (so a 10% chance of not!). Check out the stats thing on this site: http://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=18

I had a friend who still got negatives until 7 weeks pregnant with both her very healthy babies. It was because she was so well hydrated it diluted the urine!
