I am also a big water drinker...was at 6lit a day at one stage. Then read that if you drink more than a maximum of 3 lit per day you actually do more harm than good, because you wash all the nutrients from your system. I don't know if you are supplementing to improve your chances, but if you are that kind of water intake will wash everything out. Best to limit yourself to 2lit and rather manage your uti with something like citrosoda. I drink a glass of citrosoda whenever I feel a uti coming on and it sorts it out immediately. You now also get it with added cranberry extract which works great. Hope this helps.

I agree... you're washing your nutrients away and you're probably very low in salts. You could be at risk of heart failure. 10 litres is a serious amount of water. I can't help but wonder if you have got your Maths wrong.
To avoid UTIs, do the following: pee before sex. Pee after sex. Avoid underwear and clothing that is too tight in the groin. Avoid sugar. Drink water, but no need for more than 2 litres in single day. Eat a healthy diet with fresh vegetables. Take vitamin/mineral supplement.
If you think you have a UTI, head to your doctor and they will test to see if you do.
