Question

Bladder/AF pain 12 DPO

This is our second month of trying, so I appreciate its very early days.

I'm 12 DPO, did a pregnancy test yesterday which shows what I'm sure is a very faint positive line. I'm day 28 today and my cycle is 29 days long.

My only symptom until last night was permanently erect and painful nipples, so I was really surprised to see a test result which could potentially be positive!!

However, last night I woke up with what felt like a really full bladder. I went to the loo and did a normal sized wee only to be left with the most horrendous abdo pain in (what felt like) my bladder. Worse than any UTI/Cystitis or AF pain I've had before. I was doubled over for about 40 minutes when it subsided to a normal AF type cramp and its still here with me now alongside some low back pain.

So now I'm a bit confused about that faint positive result because this feels exactly like my PMS cramps always feel like.

Or could this be normal for early pregnancy?

Well when I got pregnant before (sadly ended in miscarriage), I had cramps that felt exactly like aunt flow was coming I even told my mom I know I'm not preggo cause I feel AF coming, finally took a test when I was a week late and it was very positive! So don't rule out pregnancy due to what happened. I would take a test later today or (if you can wait) with first morning urine tomorrow. Should be a bit darker by then from yesterday's test, then make a doc appt to confirm. Hope the best for you!! *baby dust*

Hi SweetPea, I took another test and pretty certain it's positive! Yay! Gradually over the course of the day I started to feel unwell: lightheaded, hot flushes, nauseous, tired, sore throat and runny nose. Honestly thought I was coming down with a virus so took the 2nd test to give me an idea of whether I could medicate or not!!! Turns out I got a less faint line, so staying away from the beechams at the moment.

Thanks for your reply. Im so sorry you MC your first. I'm trying to avoid getting too excited about this one, 4 out of 5 of my friends MC their first. My mum said she never MC but I wonder whether pregnancy tests just weren't as effective in the 80's? Either way, more than anything I'm relieved we've been able to conceive!
