Question

Babies and University

Hello everyone, I am due to start IVF in March. My husband and I have had recurrent miscarriages and I rarely ovulate so after years of tests...we have been offered some IVF cycles on the NHS.

I am due to go back to university in Sept...as I want to gain a new degree.

Has anyone else went to uni when pregnant or had babies...and how did you find it? Or I might defer a year.

I am 25...going back for a change in career. Thanks <3

I did! I was pregnant and in college when I was 18. Young I know, but what happened, happened. I started Uni at 17 and I got my first degree at like 19 and now I am trying to both have a baby and finish up my second degree. It was hard...like really hard but it was nice because if I didn't feel well, the professor understood and let me leave. I'm actually 23 now and I am a semester away from my second degree and all of my classes will be online which is why I am willing to ttc during school. If I had to go sit in a classroom, then there would be no way that I could be ttc now.

I was pregnant aswell at my first time at university but we lost that baby at 14weeks. I had to go in and sit in lectures and found everything ok they were understanding when I was unwell or had a scan etc. Its a different uni, I know going in during pregnancy I will be ok with...I just wonder if i ever have kids what it might be like at university.

I am under no illusion it will be easy but willing to give it a bash x Thanks for the insight

I've never been pregnant, but I'm TTC and applied to a doctoral program--I should hear back any time now (waiting to hear back from school is easier than the TWW lol). My BFF had her baby while in grad school. She took a semester off, but got right back in there. The professor I hope will be my advisor had twins while she was working on her PhD at a world-renown school not known for being supportive to student-parents, so if they can manage, I think it is very achievable!
