Question

Can a ovarian cyst cause a false positive?

I was wondering because I was having cramping on one side which lead to my whole uterus, which by then the pain of it had died down, which it wasn't never unbearable. Just felt like mild period cramps but mainly on my left side.. This has been going on for about a week and a half, and lately it seems to switch from my left side to my whole uterus cramping. Is this normal? I took a hpt and it came back real real faint positive and took one the next day and it was negatives this was Monday and Tuesday of this week. Need advice please!

I can't think of any reason why an ovarian cyst would cause you to get a positive HPT. Sounds like you may be experiencing a chemical pregnancy. Hopefully that's not the case, but you should call your doctor if your period is officially late and request testing to see if you are/were pregnant.

Best wishes to you.
