Sore nipples after af?

I usually get sore breasts before af. Never sore nipples. This month I had very sore nipples. They are still VERY sore. My period started friday afternoon. Was medium flow, pretty light cramps. Bleeding drastically slowed saturday afternoon and was only spotting yesterday and very light spotting today. My breast tenderness went away saturday, but it's come back again. The sore nipples seems to be getting worse. What could be causing this?
