Question

Telling People: Am I wrong to not?

Okay so I had a missed m/c in September and am now 7w with my first pregnancy after the m/c. U/S tomorrow will give me a yes or no on HB.
I've began wondering what comes next if my baby is okay.

My Plan: Tell my mom and let her help me plan a baby shower. Baby is due Sept 1. Planning shower for first week of August, it it wrong to not tell anyone until I send out invites OR they see the bump? I cannot stand the way my MIL is when I'm pregnant. She refuses to mind her own business about what I do, where I go, What I eat etc. I see her like 1 time every couple months anyway. UNLESS I tell her, then she'll insist on calling me and stuff and having dinner and crap.

Is it bad for me to wait? The EARLIEST I'd want to let news out is around 25-28 weeks. How mad do you think people would be? I just hate the constant "tips" and criticism on my choices to eat a freaking cheesburger.

I think it is your choice on when you want to tell people .. I would just tell people when ever you feel ready to spill the beans! ;-) hope everything is prefect tomorrow on your scan ;-)

It's your business and news to share (of course DH's too). If you don't want to and would prefer waiting do it. My sister never told our family until she was almost twenty weeks with all three of her pregnancies. We all respected that decision. her and he husband are very private, but they also lost their first at 14 weeks so she never wanted to tell before at least 14 weeks. Since you have had a m/c, I think you have a good reason to not tell people, and if people know about your m/c they should understand why you are keeping on the DL. At least that can you you reasoning when you tell them :)
