Nausea is a side effect of the metformin. I have been on metformin for years due to PCOS. I don't have much trouble with it now. Will just take a little getting used to. Best of luck to you.

Nausea, diarrhea and vomiting can be side-effects. Metformin helps control blood sugar levels and for PCOS women, it helps us have normal cycle lengths. And, yes, you can get pregnant with just one cycle using metformin. I take 2000mg extended release (that four pills at once), and if it's taken on too light of a meal or on an empty stomach you can get nauseated and even vomit. I have found if you take it, and don't eat enough during the day, when you do eat, it goes right through you (sorry tmi). I would test again, use a different brand of hpt with red dye. Blue dye tests tend to be hard to read, bleed a little, and sometimes they just aren't readable imo.
