My friend had been on it for many years and it took them one year to fall pregnant again.

I can't give you any answers but can tell you my experience. I was on depo all 2012 for about a year and took my last shot Dec 2012. I never had a period with my shot and it took me till June-July to start spotting and having a period. I thought they were beginning to get on track and I started getting numerous pregnancy symptoms well after researching I found out a lot of women experience the same symptoms and for every woman the depo left their system within a month and some took up to the 18 months. I have now had my first miscarriage recently, after three pregnancies. And we have been ttc this month. And I'm patiently waiting for my positive. I read even though we got our menstrual cycle back it could mean you may still not be ovulating. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I had the depo after my daughter 9 years ago, I had it for three years with no period then stopped to ttc #2 it took a year for my periods to come back then it was 18 months before I got caught with baby number 2, I have irregular periods now (50+) and to be honest I think depo is the reason I've never been the same since ttc now and currently on cd46 x
