That would be pretty early for ovulation even on clomid. Do you test am and pm? If you only test once a day you might miss it. You can always ask your doctor to test your progesterone on cd 21 or so to see if you probably ovulated or not. I never ovulated on 50 mg of clomid and had to bump the dose up to 100mg.

No, u wouldnt have O'd 3 days after ur last dose, thats way too early, dont worry about that. Are u holding ur urine for long enough, with no liquids? 8 days still isnt bad, some women dont O til 14 days or more with clomid. Mine ranged from 7-9 depending on the dose.

I am testing 2 times a day am and pm with clearblue digital. Ok thanks for yalls replies on this question. Yes my doctor is having me go in on cycle day 21 to test my progesterone level. I guess I will just keep testing. :(

By the way my normal cycle is 39 days, will that make a difference? Any recommendations on what I should do?

This cycle will probably be shorter because clomid should make you ovulate sooner, your normal cycle is pretty long. Do you normally ovulate on cd 25? The luteal phase should be reliably around 14 days unless you have a lp defect. You have a ways to go before saying you didn't ovulate if you normally do around cd 25. Looks like you are doing everything right. Just keep testing am and pm and go for bloodwork on cd21. If that says you haven't ovulated they should test you again on cd 28. If after that you don't ovulate you can bump the dose the next time or add a trigger shot. Also they can do an u/s follicle study to see exactely how and when your follicles mature.

Ok thanks so much mnor0406. I am not sure when i ovulate as this is my first time opk testing or anything. I use to have 28 day cycles regularly then had my son got iud or 2 and a half years. Then got it out and never started perod back after 2 and a half years later. So we wanted another this summer I went to doc. He gave me provera which started me right back and he gave me metformin 500 mg twice daily to keep my period coming. It has for two cycles now and they have been 39 days. First we tried just having sex every other day after period ended those two cycles with just the metformin bringing my period and hoping i ovulate and we didnt concieve so he gave me the clomid this cycle. I guess I will just keep testing opk and see what happens. Thanks so much for your info. Im so stressed. I thought this would make it less stressful and less compicated, but with all I have researched and read how it is so different for each person adn each cycle I am brain racked.UGH

If this dont work can't I ask him for the trigger shot so we can time intercourse and all? Wont that make it much easier to time it and make it a greater chance of conceiving? I dont know much about it. I just have heard from other people to not trust the opks because 2 out of 4 of one of thems cycles were the only times they got a pos opk and the other two cycles they didnt detectone but the doctor told them they ovulated. I dont have any other problems. Just ovulation. I have had bw, us, and all and everything is fine. I never thought #2 would be this hard as with #1 I just put my period dates in the computer on babyzone.com and had sex the days it told us to and we conceived first time. Miscarried that one, so we tried again the following month and got pregnant again, everything went fine that time had a little boy. He is now 4 so I want to have #2 now.

I am on my first cycle of clomid too. I took mine cd 5-9 and didn't ovulate until cd 18. So 9 days after last dose. I have been told that usually ppl will ovulate 5-10 after the last dose. And with your cycle being so long, you probably ovulate late. I always ovulate exactly 14 days before my next period. So when I get my period I count back 14 days and it is always when my opk's predicted I would ovulate. So you are not out of luck.

Oh ok. Thanks ABennet. I am just stressing that it will not work or something. But I dont have any oher problems like pcos or anything so I was told it should make me ovulate easily.

This is why I hate all forms of birth control and messing with natural body processes. Hopefully you will be able to get back on track, i did but it took awhile. I had a completely normal 28 day cycle as a teen, then went on bcp my senior year to be safe all the way through college. 6 months before my wedding I went off them and I didn't have a cycle for 10 months! It has been a pain getting my body back on track and ovulating on its own. I do have pcos but although I believe I was predisposed to getting it I think the bcp set it in motion I guess you could say because I never had issues before them. I tried metformin and glumetza but those both messed with my digestive system, then we did clomid 7 times before I finally ovulated on my own and I continue to do so! Yay! But then we found out dh has an extremely low count. Solved one problem and ran into another! Now we are doing ivf.
