Question

Low progesterone linked to miscarriages??!

Hi i had a miscarriage in aug 2013 at 8 weeks and just had another miscarriage at 6 weeks :(
Absolutly devastated.
My first miscarriage i had low levels of progesterone of 7.5!
I refused to get blood work this time as last time i was worrying about numbers and levels.. wish i did now.

Does anyone know whether low progesterone is the cause of miscarriages?
Ive had 2 in a row now..
And what level does your progesterone need to be?..

Got doc appt on weds to find out why i have miscarried 2x in a row.

Yes, low progesterone will cause a miscarriage. Its the hormone responsible for stopping the lining from shedding. Here's a link for the required levels throughout a cycle (preg or not). Progesterone in pregnancy is about 3/4 down the page. If u havent mc'd, request progesterone supplementation, Idk why he didnt give u that to begin with, esp after last time. Best of luck! Sorry for ur loss(es).
