Question

Is this normal?

I am currently 15 weeks pregnant, with my boyfriend! But I have lost abit of weight and my Nurse practitioner is worried. I had an ultra sound just last week and everything seemed normal but im still abit worried. I was originally 163.8 pounds before I was pregnant. Now im currently 161.3 pounds. Although thats not alot, it still worried my Np! Any advice on this!? And yes I do eat regularly! Just healthier then before!

To me this sounds normal, I know a few people who have lost a lot more weight than that during pregnancy. If you are eating healthier than before that is probably what has caused it. It is a bit strange that your NP is concerned though, but as long as your ultrasounds and everything are seeming positive just try not to worry. They will tell you if there is something wrong with you or your baby.

Yeah a lot of people lose weight. Im 20 weeks and have only gained 2lb, I think I lost around 2/3lb when I was first pregnant. But baby is healthy and im eating like a horse.........don't make sense lol. Have you been very sicky??

It's quite common to lose weight in the few months of pregnancy as this when hcg levels are at their highest and this increase of hcg speeds up your metabolism and therefore burns more calories + the healthy eating on top of this will also increase healthy weight loss , but all was ok with your scan which is great news and as long as the weight loss is dramatic all will fine. Congratulations and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

I was so sick with my first, I actually lost 30lbs & by the end of the pregnancy had only gained back 9. My baby was in the 90th percentile for size. I obviously don't recommend that, but baby gets what it needs.
