OPKs just indicate you are likely to ovulate in the next 24-36 hours. If you haven't seen a temperature rise then you won't have ovulated yet. I am afraid that if you aren't temping it will be much harder to pinpoint ovulation. Some women do have longer surges before the ovulate. Are you charting cm as well?

It doesnt mean anything. Once u have the surge, how long it remains has no bearing on when u actually O. ex. my longest testable surge was 8 days, slightly annoying but its my own fault for continuing to test, anyways O was day one of the surge. My shortest surge was under 10hrs, O was a day later. In all honesty, I know its hard, but dont test anymore once u get the first positive....u will just drive urself nuts. Good luck! =))

I usually see my LH surge for two days (strongly) and then a lighter LH on the third day (as it's declining). I'm guessing that I ovulate on the second day which is ~24-36 after my surge. (I always test with FMU.) But I try to BD for at least 4 days starting on the first day of the surge and maybe a day or two before if we can find the time.

Ahh there's the problem, you should never test with FMU for OPK. Then you are far more likely to get lots of positives as your urine is more concentrated. You want to test for a surge, so only want to know if it is much, much higher than normal. FMU won't tell you that as it will always be higher than normal :)

I am testing after work in the evening. I will now stop testing, I thought I needed to test until I received a negative. Thank you for all the advice. No I'm not charting, I forget every morning. Ive been ttc'ing for over 2 years and really wish for this to be our month. My husband talks about having a baby all the time, it frustrates me. Im also taking fertility vitamins.
