Question

5w3d cramps, cyst and cramps, only gestational sac

Had my first ultrasound yesterday at 5w3d (late ovulation, lmp says 6w1d). Only saw the gestational sac and a large cyst on my right ovary with a little fluid in my pelvis (which my dr thought might be fluid from the cyst starting to rupture). I have had cramps since yesterday afternoon. They are menstrual like cramps low in my pelvic area and a little in my back. Any advice? My next ultrasound is scheduled for next Tuesday to check progress. What seems more likely, cramps from stretching, from cyst, possible mc or ectopic?

If you saw the gestational sac in the correct place, then you can pretty much rule out ectopic. Cramping is completely normal, and the cramps will feel like AF type cramps. Seeing the gestational sac at 5w3d is about right, and next week there should be the yolk sac and fetal pole - possibly even the heartbeat!!! Congrats and H&H 9 months!!

Neka123- I was getting them sporadically, maybe a couple times a week. Then after my last appt I had them all afternoon the whole next day, and this morning they are finally far less. No idea what's going on. Hopefully nothing bad. My next ultrasound is Tuesday. Good luck to you!!!
