Does anyone know why periods can come early?
So I'm a little sad, actually, I'm a lotta sad; AF came this morning so I am out for like my 19th monthTTC. The weird thing is I'm pretty clockwork at 28 to 29 days, but this month was 26 days. I got a pretty bad cold around 9 dpo, and have been taking some cold medicine in order to be able to actually Stand being at work. Does medicine have an effect on your hormones enough to mess w/your cycle, or is it possible that my sickness stressed my body out enough to manipulate my cycle timing. I know it's just three days but if you are on this website like myself, you too are probably the type to need an answer for everything.

Although I can't answer your question, the same happened to me this month. I typically have a 25-27 day cycle, never earlier or later. I had some odd symptoms that made me think I was pregnant for sure. Then this morning, CD22 I go to the bathroom to find spotting. As pathetic as this sounds, I'm still holding on to hope that since this is so much earlier and such a short cycle it may be implantation bleeding... But I'm sure it's unfortunately just the beginning of my unwanted monthly visitor. GL to you...

Not sure. I think that some variation is normal and that you are still classed as having regular cycles. My cycles are almost always 27 days, occasionally 28 or 26. Pretty normal. I think that things such as: climate, physical activity and other influences like evening primrose oil can affect timing. Once in a blue moon (once a year?) I have a cycle of 21 days. The most recent time this happened, I had a +OPK on CD8. (It's usually slightly later than this.) I wondered if it was a slightly duff egg and my body 'wipes' it and starts again. But, sorry, no actual scientific answers. Anyone?

Oh here we go, to be honest im not actually bothered! After having 3 kids, 6 pregnancies and trying to conceive for nearly 2 years oh and finally being 18 weeks pregnant, I think I may have a little inkling as to what goes on with cycles and stuff, whoever you are get a life! lol

Dakotagurrl: I track my O with OPK. For a time I was temping as well, which is very helpful to track when ovulation occured...but for me it started to become stressful, as I started to obsess over it, which isnt very helpful for my cause. But come to think of it I had a positive OPK early on cd13, which normally I would have a positive around cd 14 or 15. So maybe that is my answer right there, I probably ovulated early so therefore my period would come earlier if I wasnt pregnant. Sound logical?

She's just a lamer, we ignore her!
I hear ya with the temping, I did it for a yr and a half and this is my second cycle of not doing it. Wow does it feel good too! It was ruining my sleep, I found myself waking an hr or two before temp time, then my mood for the day was dependant on what my temp was...I hated it! I think u hit the nail on the head, u very well couldve O'd when u got ur pos OPK. Very logical!! =))
