Question

At home male fertility tests

We have been TTC to for about 9 months now and no luck. I use the opk and am about to start charting my BBT, but I was curious if anyone has used the at home male fertility test. I have not done much research on the product yet, but I would really love to hear from anyone that has tried the product. Thanks

I haven't used it yet but I told my husband I want to buy one if I don't get pregnant this cycle. The reviews are mostly good ones. They say as long as you follow directions you should get an accurate result and some couples who reviewed it also stated that a doctor confirmed their results.

I told my husband the same thing, so I just wanted any feed back before I go and spend $40.00 on this test. I'm waiting a few more months before I make another appointment with the doctor, but I'm hoping that the test will at least rule out his sperm count as an issue.

hey girls! we did use the at home one they sell at walgreens. it said his sperm count was normal...however, we later found through a semen analysis done with the fertility specialist that his motility is low...but his sperm count is good. so, the test was right...but that didn't mean that his sperm were good...if that makes sense. I would say to save the money and just get a regular semen analysis done since it checks for all factors: count, motility and morphology! good luck!

Agree that you will want to know about other factors, not just the count. Sounds like the test will not identify the number of dead, 'disabled' or oddly shaped, nor if there is a sign of infection. Also, we were advised that at least two SA tests were needed because the results vary a lot with each ejac.

5 years TTC. Endometriosis and adenomyosis. Surgery. 2 IVFs. No joy. Low ovarian reserve. Is there any real hope? DE IVF = next step. Much higher success rates, but so used to things not working, it's hard to feel too hopeful. Wishing others an easier time.

Hi we had the same happen to us as jewels79, the tests only tell you if there is enough sperm in the sample given and its the quality, motility and morphology factor that counts, I think these tests can give false hope that everything is ok. GL x

Thanks ladies I appreciate your input and after reading up on the tests a little more I think we are going to save the money and talk to the doctor. I'm just concerned that our insurance may not cover things like that.

We ordered the $75 male fertility test and thank God we did not stop there .... the test showed zero sperm ... but he went for a SA a little bit after that and everything is normal

We used the Sperm Check fertility test $39.99 shipped on Amazon. It showed he has a good sperm count at least 20 million per milliliter. We ordered it and used it on cycle 5 and here we are on cycle 9 and still not preggo. So we are planning on waiting another 3 cycles and if we do not conceive then we will be headed on the Dr. for total semen analysis.
The test is good for knowing if the count is right but not a lot else.
