Question

Cycle day 1 or 2 ?!?!

Hey ladies! I started spotting yesterday, on Friday, and full flow started around 11:00 pm last night. Would I consider yesterday to be cycle day 1, or today since it was so late at night? I have to have cycle day 3 blood work done for IVF screening, so this is important! Thank you!

Ur gonna get mixed answers on this one. Technically, its cd1 cuz u had a full flow before midnight and the spotting showed ur lining was breaking down earlier in the day. The way I do it is, if I normally go to bed at say 10pm but I stayed up later that night and AF arrived before midnight, I dont count it, becuz had I gone to bed at my normal time, I wouldnt have known exactly what time she came and just marked it off as the day I woke up. Its a preference thing really, u could go with either day and the difference wont be huge on ur blood tests. Did they not give u an AF cutoff time? My ob said before midnight but Ive seen others say 5pm.

That is exactly what I was thinking! I did stay up later than my usual bed time, so I never would have known it had started. I am trying to get in touch with my RE's nurse now, but with it being the weekend, it's not that easy. They did not give me a cut off time, but I will be asking that at my next appointment! Thank you so much!

Dakotagurrl is right on this one about getting mixed answers. When I had asked my RE, she said full flow after 3:00 pm is considered next day. I had gotten AF on September 19th but was only spotting for the day. Had to consider the 20th as day one. GOOD luck!
