Question

How do you give up by choice?!

My husband and I have a 3 year old little girl together. It took us two years to conceive her, and we conceived 7 days after my nephew was born. We have now been trying for 21 months with no luck so far. I have tried oh so hard to give it to God and leave it there, but it is truly upsetting some months when I feel as though I am pregnant, only to get a BFN over and over. Right now I have been crampy for about 24 hours, insanely tired for about 5 days, and have a bit of nausea. I truly want to forget about it, but the thoughts will not go away. It is so nerve wracking. Does anyone have any tips for calming your mind? Any oils you would recommend for relaxation other than lavender? Any tips aside from forget about it would be great.

Have you been to a Dr.? Do you know why you are not conceiving. I know you are leaving it to God, but you might want to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist to determine whats going on. Good luck and take a deep breath!

I could only actually go to one if my physician referred me to one (Military is whacky), and they seem to think that I should just keep trying. I want to go to one, but I want my insurance to cover it, and it won't without a referral. I'm not sure where to go from here.

Do you have "rescue" available?
It's homeopathic and safe and helps with anxiety restlessness etc. You get it in tablet and drop form.
hope it's helpful advice.
so sorry for your struggle. Blessings and hang in there..!

I know how crazy Tricare can be - but you have to be assertive and demand to be referred to a specialist. We have been dealing with them for a while, and will not listen until I start demanding a referral. There are also loopholes with Tricare - if there is a civilian hospital closer to you than a naval hospital, you can go there for something (including referrals) and Tricare HAS to cover it. As far as the trying part - I'm not sure what steps you have taken (temping, OPKs, meds...) but standard practice is to be treated once it has been 12 months or more if you don't have history of problems. The good news about tricare is that they DO cover fertility treatments (which could be why they say keep trying instead of testing you!), so DEMAND testing!! It's going to take finding the one doctor in the military that cares, but they do exist (few and far between). Good luck!!

All I can say is that it is a daily struggle. For over a year, I was fine with not having children. Then my AF was 2 wks late (never, ever happened before). I thought for sure I was expecting, but it was just a totally weird cycle. That was in January. Since then we have been actively TTC. Counting that year of not caring, we had been not trying, not preventing for 5 years. I seem to be fine, DH has 1% morphology. Our insurance won't cover anything infertility related, and to pay out of pocket is insanely expensive. It seems like they are capitalizing on the heartache infertility causes. Anyways, I am trying soy iso for a few months. If that doesn't work, we will probably be done with actively TTC. I don't know how I will get back to the place of not caring and being content with what God has given me. It's going to take a lot of prayer. It's hard, very hard. Only God can heal the hurt. I'm sorry that you're going thru this pain.

Thank you ladies, I truly appreciate the support.

Peanut102 - I have never heard of rescue, but I will be doing some research on it. I really should be doing more to find out how I can relax better. I know how important it is to be relaxed while waiting for the miracle I know God is capable of giving.

Sheaby - I hadn't realized that they would actually cover fertility treatments. I wasn't sure how to find out about what they will actually cover or not. Thank you for the information you provided, and I will certainly be more demanding when I go in next time. I have heard of some people having to have surgery because of blockages in some places. I wonder how I could get tested for those and what they are called? Thank you again :0)

SJM1982 - I feel your pain. Each months feels like a year to me sometimes. Hopefully we will both be able to conceive very soon. Thank you for your support.

You're welcome. One test you can ask for is an HSG. I can't spell the full name! It's where they insert dye into your uterus to see if your tubes are clear, or if there are blockages. Some ladies find it very painful, for me it wasn't that bad. I have AF cramps that are way worse.
I hope we both get our bfps soon as well! I feel very good about this cycle. I pray many times a day that this will be the month God gives us our baby.
It's support from other ladies in the same situation that sometimes gets you through. That, and trusting God. I would never wish the pain of infertility on anyone, but it is nice to know you are not alone.
Babydust to us all!

sjm1982 - I agree, this is the first month that I have been on here, but I feel better with coming on here and getting support from you other ladies. I have been praying, and hope this will be the month for all of us :0) I know right now I can't get enough sleep. I slept for 11 hours last night with a 3 1/2 hour nap today and still feel ridiculously exhausted. If nothing happens this month then I am going to get testing done.

Roman Chamomile essential oil or Valerian root essential oil are good for relaxation.

Good luck :)
