Has anyone used Lovenox??
I was ttc and then my doctor told me that I would be put on Lovenox when I do get pregnant. I am terrified. I'm not sure why I'm so scared, but if anyone has used it and can tell me what its like, maybe it'll help relax me a little. Thank you!

Both my pregnancies I was put on lovenox due to a blood clotting condition I already knew about prior to TTC. It was a little scary at first but I kept positive by knowing I would do anything already to keep these little miracles alive. With my condition I was likely to clot and cause decreased oxygen to fetus and often this ends in mc early on and later there is risk to have a stillborn and even risk to the mother.
My dr office did a great job educating me and showing me how to administer the shots to myself. It was tough at first but got easier with time. Stay positive and know what you're doing is likely saving your little one.

I did do my research about side effects and was nervous and asked my ob about them. But in the end I had to weigh the risk vs benefits. There are risks with all medications and even more with pregnancy but without the lovenox my risk was losing the pregnancy. I in the end only suffered from brushing in the abdomen that looked quite intense. As far as bleeding out they dose you appropriately and towards the end of my pregnancy I was switched to heparin and was closely monitored. Heparin has an antidote if anything were to wrong. I have two wonderful little girls that I delivered at 38 weeks without complication.

I was diagnosed with a clotting disorder in April after a miscarriage in '08, healthy son in '10, two chemicals, healthy son in '11, and full term stillborn daughter in February this year. Now that I know about MTHFR I will use Lovenox and heparin too and I am nervous about it, but I'll do whatever it takes not to have another loss, especially a stillbirth. We are TTC now after 6.5 since losing Landry and its very scary, but we know God will bless us with another earthly angel we can watch grow. I'm going to add you as a friend and maybe we can support each other with TTC and afterwards!
