very few women get implantation spotting but I've heard it can happen as early as 5 days and as late as 12 so it could be implantation.

Thanks, I've been lazy about writing stuff down, so I'm thinking it may have been even earlier and may have actually been ovulation spotting. I've read both are fairly uncommon, and I think this is the only time I can recall having noticed spotting around that time in my cycle before. I think I may be reading way too much into everything... you know, like always. ;-)
