Question

Getting pregnant after IUD removal...please help!

On June 4th I had my mirena removed. I had it in for 5 years. We are trying for baby #2 :) I did not have any periods while my IUD was in. I am really wanting to get pregnant fast but I just don't know what to look for. I am definitely feeling "pregnant"! I had what I thought was my period from Saturday June 22nd - June 28...it was very very light, crampy, and an almost brown color after the first day. I have also been extrmemly tired, major head aches, and very sick feeling. If there is anyone that can give me some advice on getting pregnant after getting the mirena removed I would appreciate it! Thank you :)

I got my IUD out in january and didn't wait to have a period after and got pregnant right away 2 weeks after i had it removed and I ended up with an ectopic (pregnancy in the tube). IUD's swell your uterus and can make it difficult for the egg to get out of the tube and into the uterus to implant. Often times this swelling needs a month or two to go down. Doctors don't tell you this because they are suppossed to promote IUD's and say that you can get pregnant immediately after.

Wait until you have a period and then try to get pregnant. IUD's mess with your hormones and your uterus. I felt like crap for months after I got mine out because it messed with my body so much. I kept thinking I was pregnant and wasn't. Give your body a month to recover.

I'm in the same boat as you and went through the same symptoms. Had mine out first week in June and didn't have any symptoms the first few days, no cramping, no bleeding, no spotting, nothing. I thought it was strange at the time. The following week I felt majorly pregnant, horrible all day nausea, headaches through the roof, fatigue, breast soreness. Apparently happens to some people. Whoever said that the hormones in Mirena are purely localized is full of it. Last two weeks I felt okay except for some cramping. Been 5 weeks since removal, still no period, but I think I ovulated, not positive. Hope you feel better or find out some good news :)
