Question

Getting body healthy and ready to conceive

Hi everyone, i am new, am 30 years old and my boyfriend and i have stopped using protection since last month to try for a baby. We told ourselves when it happens it happens as we don't want to start getting to stressed or frustrated about it. I thought it worked last month, my bf also thought i was but had a urine tract infection instead :(.
Anyway i am the kind of person who feel more secure when in control so i'd like to give the future baby (fingers crossed) the best chances to be healthy.
I went to see my gp today and i'm going to get a blood test in 2 weeks (checkup to see if everything is fine and also to check rubella). i have also asked to see a health trainer as i've gained lot of weight since i've started to work in april 2012 and just want to be healthy with 'normal weight' as they say (am 5'2, used to be 64kg/10.1st and now am 75kg/11.11st).
Anyone have any good advice to get your body healthy and ready to conceive? Thanking you in advance

ps. i am taking preconception vitamins, evening primrose oil (as i have irregular and painful periods) and royal jelly.
Is there anything else that can enhance fertility and conception?
Thanks :)

I do think that you will feel better for losing a little weight. I have accidentally lost some weight recently due to stress. I felt sick all the time and couldn't eat much. I am 5 ft 4. I was 10 stone 3 (still in normal range, just) and I'm now 9 stone 0. Now not so stressed, but want to maintain weight and tone up . I've found I can do push ups which I couldn't do before! My best advice is to find something that you find fun - walking in the countryside, swimming, dancing, Wii Fit, Mr Motivator :-). Choose something realistic that you know you can continue regularly. One tip I have is to arrange to meet a friend at the gym etc and ask them NOT to tell you if they can't make it. If no one shows, carry on regardless! I don't know how much weight loss helps with fertility (might do), but think of it this way... if you get pg now, you will have to carry your weight plus the baby weight. Lose some weight and all this will be loads easier and your pg will be a lot easier. Good luck x

5 years TTC. Endometriosis and adenomyosis. Surgery. 2 IVFs. No joy. Low ovarian reserve. Is there any real hope? DE IVF = next step. Much higher success rates, but so used to things not working, it's hard to feel too hopeful. Wishing others an easier time.

hi, thank you for your answer :).
i walk everyday from/to work. 30mins in mornings and another 30mins in end of afternoons but i still gained weight. i dont have a car so i walk everywhere, i could take 2 buses to go to work but chose to walk the first 30mins and then catch what should be the 2 bus for the last 45mins journey. i enjoy walking but i also have very long days and always feel tired. i used to go for long walks with my bf's mum when i was u employed but now i dont seem to find the time to do so.
how did you manage your stress? i used to have really bad panic attacks before, and even though i have managed to stop having them (still tend to feel like its about to start sometimes though), i am quite stressed as well. been trying to find a way to chill and relax for years lol.
how long have you been trying to conceive?x
