Question

She did not concieve in the first fertility widow desopite having intercourse

My wife has a regular MP and her cycle is 28 days. The first day of her MP in April was on 19April 2011 and on average, she would ovulate on 3 may 2011. We had unprotected intercourse on 28th, 29th, 30th, 2nd May and 4th May but she did not concieve yet she was fertile during this time. What might have happened? She then started her cycle again on 16th May 2011 and her estimated ovulation date was 30 May, we had unprotected intercourse on 27th May and 31st May. Is she likely to concive this time though we had unfrequent intercourse? It is estimated that a sperm can last 3-5days, meaning that since 27th May till ovulation date, she could concieve. What chances do i have?

It can take a perfectly healthy couple 6-12 months to conceive. On average there is about a 20% chance (max) of conceiving each cycle. So don't worry yet! :) Have fun trying and it will happen!

If after 12 months (or 6 months if you wife is over 35 years old) you haven't conceived, then it is time to visit with your doctor for further investigation.

Good luck!
