Question

Once Daily Prenatal vitamins

Ok I just ran out of my walmart prenatal, and would like to try a brand that has the extra folic acid and dha. I hate having to take several pills. Any suggestions on a good brand that's not too expensive? Thanks

I am taking the store brand from my local grocery store (Ingles) and my doctor approved it and I am 7 weeks pregnant. I will tell you though that you can get an Orange Juice made by Minute Maid, that has folic acid in it already and also has extra Vitamin D and Calcium. And it's also really good to take your prenatal with orange juice, as its acidity helps break down the vitamin and allows you to absorb more of the nutrients than you would if you took it with milk or water.

That is very helpful @lilshine22!! Thanks for sharing. My prenatal vitamins were prescribed by my doctor and they are only $7 at the pharmacy!! Funny thing is, the pharmacy doesnt give you a print out with the vitamin levels that are in the vitamin. So I really have no idea how much folic acid is in them or anything else for that matter. But, I trust that they are good since my doctor prescribed them. And $7 is a lot cheaper than ones you can get over the counter!
