Question

Semen in a soft cup and then insert?

Ok so does anyone know how long the sperm live once they leave the penis. My bf back hurts and I thought to just put the sperm in the soft cup along with some pre seed an then insert but will the sperm live?

I think the soft cup is to be used after the semen is ejaculated inside the vagina as kind of a barricade to hold the semen in the cervix area. Sperm can live up to 36 hours if they are healthy. So unless you want to take a turkey baster and squeeze the semen up inside you it's not gonna work. The sperm needs that push from the ejaculation.
If his back hurts can't you just be on top. Then when you're done quickly flip to your back and insert the soft cup and stay lying down for like 15 min. I hope that works.
Good luck.

Can you take him in his sleep if he's lying on his back;)

Are you really going to be proud to say you got pregnant on your own like that?
I would be cautious about contaminating the sperm and even my own body!
I also wouldn't feel good knowing I conceived the child out of desperation and without his effort. Bad recipe.

Yes he can ejaculate into a soft cup and then you can insert it. The soft cup should not be worn for longer than 12 hours.

Lots of women use other methods for conceiving other than sex. It is nothing to be ashamed of.

First off, if she is in a loving relationship and it is agreed upon by the two of them- who are you to judge how they get their miracle?? She was asking for advice on how to use a soft cup - not what you think is or is not the correct way for her to make a baby. Many women use soft cups as a method of TTC on this board. Not cool at all ...:( not cool.....

I have never used a softcup but read plenty of good things about it. If what redpenelope says is true - then surely letting him put the sperm inside the soft cup and then use a sterile syringe to inject some of the sperm inside you and then insert the soft cup in place would help?? maybe the other ladies have an opinion on that? (U can buy sterile syringes in pharmacies in UK, so I assume in a drug store where u are.)

You could also get a syringe (sterile) and a sterile saple cup. And get him to ejaculate into that then insert sperm into your vagina. Heaps of people do it that way. Nothing to be ashamed of!

Hi Honey, my fiance has a bad back too, (slipped disc), ive been going on top for the past two nights as this isn't too painful for him. I then quickly flip onto my back after the deed and hoist my legs and pelvis up with the help of a pillow for a while. Im also thinking about using soft cups soon too. I dont see any reason why not to give anything a try, and do what you and your partner feel comfortable with. Lets hope we all get our bfps soon whatever we all try to get our little bundles of love and joy. xx

Thank you everyone, I know that I got my smileys on the opk on both 5/20 and 5/21...felt the Ooo pain last night so I felt like I was going to miss a very important day. Even on his back with me on top still bothers him....its a shame but we did the semen in the soft cup. Not sure how great that went, lots of spillage lol but hey we did the deed all week...fingers crossed! Another thing I don't mind how I conceive as long as this miracle is from me and him a turkey baster is fine! There are some women out there who have no other choice. As long as a baby is made out of love then to each their own and thank you ladies for the kind words. Good luck to everyone! Its a rough and hard journey but will pay off in the end :)
