Anyone get pregnant within several days of having their Paragard (copper) IUD removed? Could I be?
Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I have been lurking quite a bit though : )
I had my copper IUD removed on 5/7. We DTD on the night of 5/12, and I ovulated on 5/13 (I get mid cycle pain and know when I ovulate). I am now 8DPO and driving myself crazy (and hoping) that I might be pregnant. I couldn't resist testing (used a FRER midafternoon on 7DPO and with FMU on 8DPO - today) but have gotten BFN. I realize this may be early, but I am still hopeful, even though I really don't have any symptoms (of AF or pregnancy). I am due to get AF on 5/26. My ex husband and I conceived my son 7 years ago after one try, and I knew almost right away that I was pregnant. I am 33 now and my current husband and I would really like to have a baby and I guess I am getting my hopes up that it will be super easy again.
Anyway...sorry for the rambling....has anyone been able to get pregnant that quickly after IUD removal, and if so, did it stick (I have heard that the IUD thins out the uterus)?

I think it is possible considering the iud doesn't use any hormones, so your body can bounce back quicker. But if this man is a different man from your other child you shouldn't expect the same results. He might not have as powerful sperm as the other man.
Plus even though you are still young at 33 your hormone levels could be changing. Just give it a couple of days and see if AF visits. Good luck.
