Question

Advice needed please ladies!! 21dpo, still no sign of AF, 4 BFNs!?!

Hi ladies, any advice will be appreciated. Im new at all this AF, DPO, BFN thing so hope I got it right!

Im 21 dpo, was due 12th May (last Fri). Periods are always regular, every 28 days without fail! This month not even had a hint that its coming. Ive felt a few times it has just started, ran to the bathroom but just really clear discharge.

I have never been pregnant so unsure what to look for, but I ve been really tired, bursting into tears for no reason (my poor boyfriend!), sore boobs and feeling bloated a lot, which I know are some early symptoms.

The thing that is confusing me and my partner is that all my home pregnancy tests have come back negative. Two were from Asda, but I think I took these too early, and two were clearblue digital, one taken at 15 dpo on the day after my period was due and one taken this morning 21 dpo! All were used with 1st urine.

Anyone had same thing or got any advice?
Any comments will be much appreciated!
Thanks!

I've got the same problem, I'm currently 16dpo and no AF and no signs of it coming either but keep getting BFN's, I've decided if my AF does not show by Sunday (18dpo) I will do another test with first urine on Monday (19dpo) and if still BFN then going to book an appointment with the doctors.

I've read loads of things though about how stress can make you up to 2 weeks late and how some women even at 3 months pregnant still get BFN so I'm confused what to make of it too.

But like you I getting clear discharge and keep thinking my AF has come and go running to the toilet but never anything there. I'm urinating a lot but do not really have any other simptoms apart from earlier in my cycle I had what could have been ovulation spotting 2 days after sex and what could have been implantation bleeding for 2 days at about 9dpo.

Good luck, let me know what the outcome is

Hi carriejane,

Nice to hear I'm not alone on this one! The worst thing is the not knowing. My boyfriend and I are not trying to conceive, but have said we're ok either way, we just want to know.

I'm not stressed, haven't been ill lately or anything like that and I'm never ever late. I've had no spotting or anything other than the clear discharge making me think my period had just started! I'm weeing loads too! One minute I think of all my symptoms and think I am definitely pregnant, then the next minute I think of the bfns and I'm convinced I'm going to come on any second!

I don't want to spend any more on hpts really but then I just want to take one every day until my period arrives or I get a positive lol!

Good luck to you too! I'll keep you updated and you do the same :-)

Also if I find out any more info or get any other advise I'll let you know!

I found this on another website!

Yes, it can fail to detect in some women. I have had 6 pregnancies and 4 of those did not show up on the urine test. It seemed to be just my girls, as the boys showed up. My doctor even had me do urine tests off and on through out the my oldest girl to see if I would ever test positive I never did. It is a lower amount of the hormone that cause it. It doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with the baby. Just means your body doesn't produce as much. I would just go see the doctor about a blood pregnancy test.

And this.....sorry I'm addicted to google! Just want to know either way as I hate waiting!

A false negative result can happen when a woman tests too early, says obstetrician Sehwani. "Home pregnancy kits include instructions to test as early as the first day of a missed period, but in some pregnant women, hormone levels aren't high enough at that point to be detected." (Learn more about when to trust or ignore a negative result.)

More than 60 percent of those in our survey took the test sooner than a week after their missed period, perhaps because testing kits often claim to work starting on the day your period is due. But research suggests it's best to wait to test until a week or so after your missed period â?? as antsy as you may be.

Thanks sendme'anangel, I just want a bfn or af to come. Being in the "don't know" position at 21dpo is horrible!

@Carriejane - I've spent most of the evening on google lol! I think I'm as confused as I was before though! From what I can see, at 21 dpo I should be getting a bfp by now. but then again there are stories of people not getting bfp til 6 weeks or later! It's just sooooooo frustrating! I just want a yes or a no!

I brought another 2 tests this evening, and now I'm trying to decide when to take them lol! x

Take one in the morning then they say leave it 3 days before taking the next but think you should start to think about going to your doctors to get a blood test.
