Question

What's going on?

I think I may of ovulted late in my cycle. Like the 18th day. Would this affect when I would test positive? I'm 4 days late and having crazy symptoms, but got a BFN:( I hate this wait, am I just going crazy? I'm never late though

From what I have read as long as your progesterone levels are good Oing will indicate when you start AF, so basically AF should start 14 days from O day...does this make sense? LOL...if you're early or late Oing count 14 days and that's when AF should rear her ugly face...if anyone has different info please chime in :)

sounds right :) my dr said that the length of time between ovulation and your period is called luteal phase and this rarely changes so if you ovulate 4 days late then your period will probably be due 4 days later than normal, hope that helps :)

To be considered "late", you first need to determine when you o'd. Do you temp/ chart or use opk's? Your luteal phase is the phase between the actual day of o and the first day of AF. Not spotting but regular flow. Your luteal can change a bit but not drastically. For instance, I o anywhere from cd8- cd11. My luteal phase ranges from 15-17 days. I use temp/ charting and opk's to help determine o.

Forgot to add that a normal luteal phase is 10-16 days. Anything less than 10 is considered to be a luteal phase defect. Anything more than is very rare but is not considered a problematic effect.
