It's good to get natural Vitamin D when you are pregnant, so natural sunshine I think is fine. Tanning beds are being close to being banned for their health risks so I'd avoid those all together. I used an organic spray tan when I was pregnant last time.

Yes, do avoid tanning beds. Some natural sun is fine. I think anything natural - not to excess - is okay because it's in line with nature, but tanning beds in general are so bad and more so pregnant.

If I might point out - I'm almost 44 and have good skin. I have no wrinkles, not even any crows feet but the texture of my forehead has really changed these last few years and I'm certain it's due to limited tanning bed use when I was younger. It does age you and I regret those few months where I tanned in the beds. (I don't lay out at all.) Two weeks of dark is not worth 30 years of sun damage.

I tanned before and during the first few months of my pregnancy, I stopped once it started raising my body temp too high. Laying in a lower powered bed or even outside on a nice day wont do any harm to the ttc process or pregnancy, UVA/UVB rays dont penetrate internal organs. If u want to tan, just keep an eye on ur skin and body temp and u'll be fine! Good luck! =))

I am 4 weeks pregnant, and while I was TTC I asked my doctor, besides of the skin damage will tanning effect me getting pregnant and she told me that it overheats your ovaries and can make you produce lower quality eggs. I immediately stopped, I didn't want to take any chances. Being tan is nice, but doing everything I can to make sure my baby has a good start is much more important than looking dark. Best of luck to you!! Lots of baby dust to all you ladies
