Question

How common are false positives with home pregnancy tests?

I am currently around 13dpo.Two days ago I used my first home pregnancy test, it was a First Response Early Result (or similar) and it came up with a faint positive, this was about 4pm. I used another test (pregnosis) at around 7pm that night and it was negative. The next morning when i woke up, i used another first response and it was a slightly darker positive. This morning when i woke up i used the pregnosis test and it was a very faint positive. My period is due on saturday or sunday...I am not sure how common/uncommon false positives are? I have bought another test with another brand (Clear Blue i think) and i will test that one on the weekend. Any feedback would be appreciated!

According to my endocrinologist you don't get false positives! HPTs are designed to pick up HCG (pregnancy) hormones. Unless you are on a medication that can cause traces of HCG then the possibility of a false positive is next to none! I say that many positives consider yourself preggo! Congrats to you!!!
