Question

What is the timeframe between ovulation pain and actual ovulation? Is it different for every woman?

I am usually aware of a sharp pain on the side sometime during suspected ovulation. What does it mean? Does it mean ovulation is happening right now, or ovulation is about to happen? Because ovulation test usually start showing positives all throughout the fertile window though with increasing strong coloration while closing on ovulation date. I hear that the actual ovulation and egg waiting in fallopian tube happens only up to 8 hrs. I wonder if the time of ovulation pain is the indicator of the actual date of ovulation?

It is different for everyone. My ovulation pains last 16 hours. There is no telling if the pain if from the egg getting ready to release, the egg rupturing or the follicle healing.
