Question

why is test line always lighter than control line

so like it says I took a test and got a neg. but the control line was like SUPER dark and yet the test/result line was faint just didnt know if anyone knew why this is Im sure Im not the only one to ever get one like this but just wondering TIA

Hpt's have two antibody strips, the control line will pick up the dye wether there is Hcg or not to show that the test has worked. the second antibody strip (test/result) will only pick up dye if there is Hcg in the urine for it to bind to. early in pregnancy since there is only a small amount of Hcg in your urine only a small amount of dye binds where as later on in pregnancy there is more Hcg so more for the dye to bind to the antibody strip. I hope I made sence then lol
