Could a HCG beta test pick up pregnancy 8 dpo?

I go to the doctor tomorrow to get my RH factor checked. Could pregnancy be detected on a regular blood test at 8 dpo? What about a beta test?

Well, they'd have to specifically test the blood for hcg and the embryo would have had to have implanted already (average implantation is 8-10dpo) - but if those two things were in place, yep!
