Question

short cycle, when do I test?

I have an average 24 day cycle. I usually O on CD 11-12 and then AF comes 12-13 DPO. So, if I use an early result test 5 days before AF is due, that has me testing at 7 DPO, way too early! But if I wait till 14 DPO (which is what they're calculating) I'm already a day or two late. I'm currently 10 DPO and got a BFN this morning with an Equate test. I've had absolutely no symptoms this month, pregnancy or PMS. AF is due Tues or Weds. I plan on testing tomorrow and Tues. When I was pregnant with my son, I tested at 11 DPO with a dollar tree test and it was BFN. At 13 DPO, with afternoon urine, I got a very faint positive on the dollar tree test, so my husband says. I didn't see it. But I did get a faint positive on a FRER test with that same urine so I don't know what to think. I was a day later than normal at 13 DPO, but I wasn't late late. Does having a short cycle change the day you get a BFP if you are pregnant?

No matter what the length of your cycle is, it still takes anywhere from 6-12 days for implantation to occur and that's when Hcg levels begin to increase. You should wait until the day your period is due before testing again because the likelihood of a false negative is too high if you test before then.

Good luck.
