Question

Light pink spotting once, then brown off and on, now pinkish red again?

What would cause this? Im so worried I am loosing the baby. I had a pink discharge a week ago, then watery brown off and on. nothing yesterday, and nothing until 11 30 today. i wiped and saw a pink tinge, wiped again, pink but darker. I am in a panic. I went to the doctors a few days ago, they dip a urine sample to rule out infection, and told me it was too soon to tell, id have to wait it out. Anyone have advice? I am trying my best to be calm, but cant help but think the worst :'(

I am 9DPO and i had spotting yesterday that was light brown and spotting later in the day today that was light pink. I have been told that it is possible to have implantation bleeding more than once. So stop worrying, don't wanna harm the baby!! :)

Sorry if I roll my eyes when someone says "stop worrying" and doesn't even ask how far along you are. There are many times when the bleeding is nothing serious. It could be a sign of mc (was in my case both times, so I freak when I see any color on toilet paper). How far along are you? I guess you are still pretty early if you went to the Dr. and they didn't give you an u/s.

Just pay attention to your symptoms. As soon as my progesterone drops, I notice the difference in how I feel. I might still have the morning sickness when my HCG is high, but the progesterone is very noticeable. Also, try the dip strips if you have them. Dilute them 5-10 times in urine if you're past 5 weeks. Keep the dilution rate consistent and see if they get darker or lighter over a few days. It's a little trick I do and it confirmed my last mc. Hope everything turns out well. In many cases, it's nothing but I do understand how you can be worried.

I would call the doc again and insist on a blood test. I am super surprised they havent already. They should take the first sample and then a second 48 hours later to check on the progression of your hcg levels. Unless the spotting is so minimal and they know your history better I am super surprised that they dont want to make sure for you instead of you sitting there worrying and possibly something going very wrong. Also yes I would be VERY curious as to how far along you are. If SUPER early say maybe 5-6 weeks or less you may be able to see a line progression for yourself on a FRER. Line should be getting darker unless your first sample is close to or is just as dark as the test line. With these: testing 48 hours apart is the best to see a line progression also make sure you have at least a 4-6 hour urine hold when testing. Bestest of luck to you and be SURE TO KEEP US UPDATED:)

I just looked at your profile and hpts and saw you are about 6 weeks. I still might try the frer or the blue line tests you have used (blue dye tests arent always the most reliable, but the second line stays lighter longer than a test line on a frer would with a higher hcg level which I'm sure you have at 6 weeks.) I am 6 weeks and 2 days. The spotting is minimal and only there when I wipe. It is off and on, and my husband has it set in his mind its stress. But I also am very surprised they wouldnt do anything. They checked my urine to rule out infection, told me to get rest and drink plenty of fluids. Its a different doctors office than I went to with my first but I am considering switching. I have my labs and what not in 10 days, so Im doing my best to be calm and hold off until then. I havent had any spotting today, no cramps, and my breasts are sore to the touch which are good signs. Trying my best not to worry, but still highly thinking of switching my doctor.

I might switch if you are unhappy or are unsure of your care. Blood tests are expensive and some docs shy away unfortunately. However I have gone to my gyno with all of my concerns and blood work needs and they NEVER hesitate. They are a big practice and have la lab on site. Be aware that reg docs or small practices might shy away from blood work or a more thorough check up until later on. So I dont know if you are just going to your regular doc or an actual gynos office, but I might consider asking around and seeing if you can get your best fit. Good luck:)
