why did have a negative test result today

ive dont a pregnancy test today about the mid day just after i had a cup o tea and cranberry juice before that , im just pass 2 days of my period very unuasl for me. as im ttc , ive hade a negative resulg is it because of the drinks i had or thime of test ot cheap tester. cant wait for the good news . will test again after 2-3 days. can some advice me ? had period like cramps sine last 4 days and yellow discharge.
