Am I pregnant or what is going on?

So I have been on birth control for over a year and I take it daily like clock work! In September I had my period like normal but then 4 days later started spotting... I spotted for 3 or 4 days then it stopped. Now here we are a month later and I am about 2 weeks late. I took a pregnancy test last week but it came back negative. I have never had a problem like this before! I always have started on the date i should as well as ended when i should. Anybody have an ideas as to what it may be or similar problems with an out come? Thanks in advance! :)
