Cycle day 45, still no period!

Hi! I had a miscarriage in June. I've had one period since, which started July 15th. No sign of my period since and only bfn's. I've started seeing my acupuncturist again last friday, he said he'd try to get my period started if it was still a no show for my next appointment which is this coming Friday.

My question is...will I ovulate before my period eventually starts or do I need to have a period for ovulation to kick in again?
