Question

Im 20 and have just been diagnosed with pcos.Advice ?

I don't really have many of the symptoms for example while my periods are heavy they are regular, but I am not ovulating often/at all.My main symptom is multiple cysts on the ovaries rather then the rest of the syndrome. Like I said I am 20 also married. We aren't ready for a baby just yet but do want one in the near future. I need some advice really on my ability to conceive and help from anyone who has been through a similar situation. I am seeing my doctor again next week
Thank you

I have had PCOS for many years - and I would say the best things you can do to prepare yourself are

1) Try to maintain a healthy, normal weight
2) Consider taking metformin - the side effects suck - but it can help
3) Mentally prepare yourself that it might take longer than you'd like to get pregnant when you are ready.
