how long before you give up?
hi all not really a question just a whinge really, just wondering if any of you have thought about how long you try before giving up - i think i'm there now, 2 years of trying with pcos and endometriosis, cant get fertility help (already have children so not eligible) other than ivf which i cant afford, how many months do you go thru this before you admit its never gonna happen?

Well I have PCOS too and I never really thought about it before I started trying to conceive. At 9 months of trying naturally without success I suspected I had PCOS so I went to a fertility clinic and spent another year with them after they confirmed it. After all these treatments and no success I was ready to give up. The only other option I had was IVF and even though I could I afford it I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay 10k just for a chance and conceiving. But my doctor and husband talked me into doing one last cycle of injectables. Those only cost me 1500 to 2000 bucks a cycle. So I went through with it for my husband, not invested in the treatment at all. Figured it was a waste of time and accepted the fact that I would never have kids. But then it actually worked and got a positive on my 2 year anniversary of TTC. I think it depends on the person but for me after 2 years I was done trying and just happened to get lucky for once.

I am also 8dpo today and feeling the same way. I am in the TWW on my fourth IUI. I have felt like giving up after the third IUI failed and only did this one because my husband really wanted me too. I guess the emotional ups and downs are just part of the process. Don't give up hope and best of luck to you!
