Q: Can pelvic adhesions be the cause of infertility??? I believe I have been misdiagnosed!!

Ok., I have gotten pregnant in the past just by sneezing , of course that was in my 20's though..,I am remarried now and aged 42. We have been ttc for 8 years, no luck ! I am seeing an RE, all tests done on me and DH, RE says unexplained and recommended iui, which is getting costly! Well, I did Internet research that says pelvic adhesions can cause infertility... When I has my lap they said I indeed had them, probably caused by a c-section, but that it wasn't the cause of my issue. Now I am reading all over that pelvic adhesions do infact cause infertility and I am suspicious that the doctor just wants to milk me for $$$$ because she doesn't do surgery for pelvic adhesions...she told me to go the treatments first and then go to a surgeon later.,.,opinions, advice?? Anyone know anything about pelvic adhesions or had them in the past??

I would think it makes sense that it would make it difficult to have a successful pregnancy with adhesions. For xample, I have endometriosis and I was able to get pregnant again after my son was born because they removed the tissue when they did my csection. They said though, that I did have the adhesions and scarring from the disorder and they hadn't quite seen anything like it. The baby was protected completely from the scarring and excess tissue.

We are now TTC #3 and we're not sure if the tissue is growing back. I have had two csections and my OB didn't say I would have any problems getting pregnant again.

If I were you, I would get a second opinion just in case anyway. My stepmom had my step sister after 6-7 years of trying and she was born when she was 43. I am sending baby dust your way and I hope it all works out for the best!!!
