Your opk is telling you that it is time to baby dance. So start today, tomorrow and the following day to have sex. The opk has picked up the LH hormone surge and the is the last hormone to peak just before you ovulate. You should be ovulating anywhere from 12-36 hours. You want to place those little spermies right up there in place so that the egg is met by them when you ovulate. Keep in mind that when you ovulate the egg will only survive for 12-24 hours and after that it disintegrates if its not fertilized. The sperm lasts for 2-3 days inside and if the conditions are good (your cm) they can last up to 5 days, but don't go by the 5days, that's rare, stock to the 2-3 day mark so that is why they say more sperm laid up there, the more chance you have for conceiving. So start the dance and let's how for a baby. BABY DUST FROM ME TO YOU!! 17dpo and preggo!

Wait, I just re-read your question. You said you are 7-8dpo. Dpo means days past ovulation. Have you ovulated already? Or are you in your new cycle? do you mean cd7-8? If you are past ovulation than you shouldn't have to use an opk anymore. If you are using it for pregnancy then it is not recommended. LH and HCG hormones are identical hormones except, the HCG hormone has one extra component. One person used this as an example, LH and HCG hormones can be compared to identical twins, but one has a hat on get it? That is the extra component in the HCG. So while it can read on the opk at about 14dpo it could also pick up the small amount of LH that we automatically have in our body. Is your opk digital? That is another thing, if the reading Is positive on the digital machine and you have ovulated a while already then you need to get an hpt to confirm pregnancy, but if you made a mistake and mean cd7-8 and the opk Is reading a + result then you need to baby dance as in the message below.
