My baby is now an 18 week old monster!

My midwife explained it like this; the yolk sac is a precursor to the placenta... If there is a yolk sac more often than not there is a baby hiding behind it. And she was right! Fingers crossed for you too xx

I was reading ur old post, as I have just had a 6 week scan and they only saw yolk sac, and no baby.
If u don't mind, can u pls tell me how it turned out of u

My cousin just went through this... and the 2nd scan showed a growing baby! Honestly it could go either way, I would try to get another scan in a week, there is no way I could wait 3 weeks. GL!

I went in at 6 weeks and only saw the yolk and gestational sacs. I'm sure there will be a baby in there within the next week or so...good luck to you!

No bleeding but mild cramping and obviously the memories of last time. I would have thought they could offer a bit more help.. will call my midwife today. :( thanks for your responses. x

Yeah i would you need answers hun not fair to leave you in limbo for 3 weeks :( have you been bleeding at all?
when i lost mine i started spotting they scaned me and there was nothng there they checked my hormone levels every 2 days cause my cervix was still closed and had me very confussed as 1 doc told me that i han't M/C then came back the next day and said my hormone have dropped now so you have M/C ...does sound promising though as the yolck sac is there...wish you luck hun and get a second opinion and scan x

hi again, thats ok. there is a sac and a yolk sac. she thinks it may be too early but didnt offer to run any blood tests or anything and told me to wait THREE weeks for another scan! Do you think I should be calling my GP to arrange something quicker.. i'm sure some other action could be taken considering my recent miscarriage. :(

There was nothing there at all just the sac...sorry didn't read that well :/ was there a fetal pole? it looks like a circle with a line at the side of it...it might be measurng 6 wks but scans are not 100% accurate when it come to measurment! i hope all is well for you :) tbh though they should see something if you are 6 weeks a heartbeat can be detected at 6 weeks...what have they told you? have they checked you beta hcg? x

I'VE just been booked in for mon for a vaginal scan and these are my fears too as my last period was 2nd april,but i know i didnt ovulate till 25 th april,i've checked every site i can find,and they all say that just the sac and yolk sac would be visible at this time,I know its easier said than done no to worry,i had my mc in jan thats why i'm getting it aswell.stay positive from what i've just read about internal scans i would say your fine and alls well.:)
